Daniel Bernstein's page for daemontools.
A djb system aspires to use daemontools to manage as many services as possible. Paul Jarc describes the ultimate: a methodology for replacing init with daemontools svscan, for managing all initializations and services of a system.
Felix von Leitner's minit package provides a svscan-like replacement for an alternative init system.
Gerrit Pape's runit package provides a complete replacement for the daemontools suite, with many interesting additional features.
Glenn Strauss provides a patch to help log svscan output to multilog, instead of using readproctitle or the alternative svscanboot scripts described in this appendix.
